The Toshiba Thrive is a great choice when it comes to tablet devices. It has a handy 10 inch display and more features built in that most tablets, and so its selling point is its expandability.
The tablet features an SD card expansion slot, which will allow you to extend the 16GB internal storage and add up to an additional 32GB on top. A mini USB and a USB slot enable the Toshiba Thrive to have plenty of connectivity options. Use the micro USB slot to attach your Toshiba Thrive to a net book or a laptop, or use the unusual USB port to attach your tablet to other tablets to share data. A HDMI port on the Toshiba Thrive is handy if you carry around HD videos and you can plug it into and HD ready TV to view them in their full capacity.
As well as these additional ports, the Toshiba Thrive is a great little entertainment centre. You have a headphone port which allows you to listen to your videos. There is a loudspeaker, but you don’t get the quality or clarity that other tablet speakers offer. The sound seems to be of a poorer quality and the treble balance seems to be off slightly so you end up with quite a tinny kind of sound.
With a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM memory chip, WiFi and Bluetooth features, you have all the hardware present that you would normally expect from a tablet. The Toshiba Thrive is able to play flash content as it has the Android operating system installed. Speaking of which, you can use the App market to download apps and make the tablet as useful as possible for your own individual needs.
With so many features, this is a good contender when it comes to tablets. You will not tire of its features or style and it is also cheaper than many of its major rivals.
